Easter Festival at Fairy House

Fitzers Catering are once again delighted to be providing racecourse catering for the wonderful Easter Festival at Fairyhouse in 2020. This year the festival promises to be better than ever with a packed weekend of racing action, live music, most stylish lady competition, children’s competition, top-class racing and of course a bespoke dining experience with world-class food provided by us. The festival runs from Saturday 11th – Monday 13th April in the gorgeous Fairyhouse Racecourse, one of Ireland’s premier horse racing venues in Ratoath County Meath. Here is what to expect from this exciting weekend of racing.

Day 1 – Opening Day Easter Saturday

Day one of the festival is Saturday 11th April and festivities kick-off when the gates open at 12pm with the first race at 2:10 pm sharp. The highlight of the day is the 100,000 RYBO Handicap Hurdle won in 2019 by Ivanovich Gorbatov for Joseph O’Brien under JJ Slevin. This year, there is a true festival atmosphere with live music and casual dining available throughout the day. After the last race at 5:45 pm, you can enjoy a drink and a dance with your friends until late. Tickets start from only €10 per adult for a single day pass or €30 for a bundle weekend pass.

Day 2 – Gold Cup and Family Day

The Fairyhouse Gold Cup is the feature race on the second day of the renowned Easter festival. The Grade 1 race is of the highest quality and attracts some of the finest novice chasers aged five and up from across Ireland and the UK. The race is one of the highlights of the weekend and punters are promised a full day of excitement and unpredictability. The Sunday of the festival is also family day at Fairyhouse, with plenty of free kids’ entertainment, face painting, carousels, Little Hoofs, bouncy castles and so much more. Best of all, kids under 16 go free!

Day 3 – Boyle Sports Irish Grand National

Sunday is the main event of the Fairyhouse Easter Festival with the famous Boyle Sports Irish Grand National being run from 2-6pm. 2020 marks the 150th running of the Irish Grand National so you can be sure it will be an event to remember. Last year, the race was won by Burrows Saint for Willie Mullins under Ruby Walsh giving the Champion trainer his first ever win of the contest. The race is now the richest jumps race in the country, standing at a huge €500,000. It attracts racing enthusiasts from all over the country, not just the usual racegoers making competition fierce and great fun.
